The 2025 Rugby Championship is making a return for its 14th edition, featuring the sport's four powerhouse teams from the southern hemisphere: South Africa (Springboks), New Zealand (All Blacks), Argentina (Los Pumas) and Australia (Wallabies). This competition is the ultimate battle that really defines rugby down under.
Originally known as the Tri Nations, this annual showdown has become a crucial proving ground where champions are forged, rivalries get stronger, and teams have their reputations put to the test under the toughest conditions.
While the Six Nations might get a lot of attention up north, the Rugby Championship down south has a different feel to it—the games are faster, the hits are harder, and the relentless pace is what has produced many Rugby World Cup winners.
The Format & Schedule
All teams will play home and away 12 matches with each others bewteen August and early October of 2025. This year's schedule has a special surprise — Argentina and South Africa will go head-to-head at Twickenham Stadium in London for a neutral ground showdown in the final round, giving fans in the northern hemisphere a chance to see the impressive skills from the southern hemisphere teams.
