Super Rugby Pacific pre-season Updated Fixtures 2022

 

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the Super Rugby Pacific pre-season two matches were forced to be canceled. The competition will begin just before the Super Rugby Pacific 2022. 

On Tuesday, Highlanders confirmed that its match against Moana Pasifika on 11 February in Queenstown was canceled as New Zealand's nationwide switch to its red-light Covid setting.

In Australia's Tasman Sea, updated Western Australian border restrictions have forced Western Forces to battle against Fijian Drua in the pre-season match on Sunday in Ballina, New South Wales.

The announcement was made a day after the Crusaders announced its pre-season match against Hurricanes move from Blenheim to Christchurch and will play behind closed doors.

The Highlanders added that another pre-season match takes place in Oamaru next Friday, where they battle against Crusaders for the annual Farmlands Cup. This match will also play without a crowd.

The Dunedin-based franchise’s decision to remove the Moana Pasifika match is a double disaster for Queenstown, as it occurred after last year's Super Rugby Trans-Tasman match between the Highlanders and Melbourne Rebels moved to Sydney during a travel gap between New Zealand and Victoria.

On Tuesday's statement, Highlanders said that the match against Moana Pasifika will reschedule once we find a new venue. In this competition, each Super rugby team in Australia and New Zealand will play in the preseason trial matches. Check the Super Rugby Pacific Pre-season Schedule 2022 below:
