South Africa has been selected to host the World Rugby U20 Championship in both 2023 and 2024. The Junior Springboks previously won the championship in 2012 while playing on their home ground. The country is excited to welcome the emerging talents of the sport once again. The 12-team tournament will be held from June 24 to July 4, allowing the young players to showcase their skills.

The Championship and the Trophy have a set system of promotions and demotions. The team ranked at the bottom of the Championship League will be relegated to the Trophy competition for the next season, while the Trophy champion will earn their spot in the Championship League.
