Ireland Squads - Six Nations Rugby 2022

 

The Irish coaching staff and Andy Farrell have released a 37-man squad of the 2022 Guinness Six Nations Championship, which begins on 5th February.

The Ireland squad is led by Johnny Sexton, who won his 100th cap for his country during the November international window against Japan.

Ireland will compete with Wales, Italy, and Scotland at the Aviva Stadium. Also, visit Paris and London to play against France and England respectively.

The new team squad, two uncapped players also include Ulster’s Michael Lowry and Connacht’s Mack Hansen. Both have been training with the national team in recent months, Lowry during the Vodafone Summer Series in July and Hansen during the Autumn Nations Series in November.

Ireland coach Andy Farrell said: In November we challenged the teams to prepare quickly for international competition. The same goes for the Six Nations season. Let's start the opening weekend, the best game against Wales.

"It's going to be an exciting tournament with so many strong teams and great performances during the fall."

Ireland will play their first match of the 2022 Six Nations Championship against Wales, which will start on 5th February. After one week, the team moves to France to battle against Les Bleus in Paris. On 27 February, in the third round, Ireland takes on Italy at the Aviva Stadium before heading to Twickenham to take on England a fortnight later.

Ireland will take on Scotland at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday 19 March in the final round of the tournament.
